What is DHL eCommerce?
DHL eCommerce is an international tracked mail service created to help online sellers reach customers around the globe. The aim of this service is to make cross-border shipping simple and affordable.
When you book DHL eCommerce via the Parcel Monkey shipping calculator, you can make a considerable cost saving compared to express delivery services and DHL has the international infrastructure to connect online sellers with buyers almost anywhere in the world.
How does DHL eCommerce work?
DHL eCommerce is a hybrid courier service, which means it utilizes the services of more than one shipping company to make the delivery.
When you book DHL eCommerce from the USA, you will be required to drop off your package at your local USPS Post Office and USPS will ship it to a central sorting facility. Once sorted, it will be shipped overseas by DHL.
When your package reaches its destination country, it will be injected into the postal network and delivered by the local postal service.
This method of shipping is particularly cost-effective for mailing small packages internationally.
DHL drop off locations
Dropping off your package is simple and convenient. You can drop off your DHL eCommerce packet at any USPS Post Office. Find your nearest USPS Post Office.
DHL eCommerce shipping time
DHL eCommerce is an economy service, so shipping times are longer than standard or expedited services. You can ship to major destinations in Europe in 10-16 business days and the rest of the world in 11-22 business days.
When you get a quote using our shipping calculator, you’ll be able to compare prices and transit times all in one place, so you can choose a service that’s right for you.
DHL eCommerce tracking
DHL eCommerce is a tracked mail service and can be tracked via the Parcel Monkey tracking tool using your PMS reference number or via the DHL website using your DHL eCommerce tracking number.
Tracking updates will be less frequent than a standard courier service.

Packaging
Your goods must be well packed and prepared for transit. Please read our packaging advice for guidance on this.
Shipping labels
You will require a printer to use this service as you will be provided with a USPS shipping label to print and attach to your package before you drop it off at your local Post Office. This label will take your package to the central US sort location, so it will have a delivery address for Jamaica, NY on it. At the sort location, a DHL eCommerce shipping label will be applied with the recipient's address.

Customs documents
If you’re sending a parcel overseas, you’ll need to complete a customs declaration form detailing the contents of your package and the value. This is included in our booking process for DHL eCommerce, so all you need to do is answer the questions accurately, print out the completed form and attach it to your package.
Find out how to print your customs form and ensure your package clears customs without unnecessary delays by following our customs advice.
Prohibited and restricted items
Before you ship, please check our prohibited items list for a full list of items which either can not be shipped via any of our services or are subject to additional shipping restrictions. This list includes any items containing batteries, liquids, perishable items such as food, pharmaceuticals and some electrical devices.
Protection cover
DHL eCommerce shipping includes $100.00 protection cover. This can be upgraded to $250.00.
Can I have my package collected?
DHL eCommerce is only available to book as a drop-off service, however, if you’d like to book a courier collection from your home or work address, we have a range of affordable pick-up and delivery services to choose from.
