Watch out for upcharging

EMS delivered as requested, HOWEVER there was additional shipping charges added over a week post delivery for 'rural addresses', which they refuse to refund - and there was no warning or indication when I put in for a quote that those quoted shipping costs were potentially going to be increased. After extensive conversation with customer service, AKA I had to write every 5 days because their 'we will get back to you' meant they would NOT get back to me - they have refused to refund. VERY unhappy, as I choose shipping services based on price, I input the address correctly, and this was 100% on their end.

Disappointed in EMS service and communication

I’ll never use EMS again. I shipped a package from the US to Italy on Dec 16 after being told it would arrive before Christmas, backed by a 31-day guarantee. It didn’t even leave the US until Dec 31 (two weeks with no explanation), then routed through Great Britain and didn’t reach Italian customs until Jan 21—another three weeks with no clear tracking updates. I contacted Parcel Monkey twice and only later received an international tracking number, which I had to use a third-party site to follow. I understand customs delays aren’t controlled by the shipper, and customs only took 5 days, which is reasonable. Some responsibility is on Parcel Monkey, but the main issue is EMS: long unexplained gaps and zero communication. Even if it’s cheaper, I won’t use EMS again.
Received an update saying shipment was delayed for destination to submit paperwork. That's fine. What about the 3 weeks it took just to get the package out of the US?Agent replied on 29/01/2026

Unreasonable charge after shipment

I was charged additional fees after shipment due to an incorrect size or weight, but I am confident that I declared everything correctly and even included a safety margin.
The shipping time was also longer than expected.Agent replied on 29/01/2026
Kindly note the physical weight of the parcel 34 lbs instead of booked weight 33.1, hence the addititional charge collected.

Good enough

Service is cost effective but there should be a better step by step guide on how the service works. It changed the shipping address on the label without warning and I lost 4 days trying to fix what turns out to be normal operation. There should also be an urgent phone numbers for after hours concern. The operating times are very inefficent particular if you are shipping from the West coast!
